whether it be about nothing, or everything, or anything in between, y talks.

y talks a lot. some have even said y talks too much.

y-talks is a blog for those who like to spend their time thinking about nonsense and sometimes sensical things about the world. there is no right or wrong way of interpreting what y is saying, but they hope you find something in it. meaningful or for fun.

Addicted to moments

Theres almost nothing better than giggling to yourself. as i walked into the bathroom in a house full of friends, i replayed awesome moments from last night.

This weekend some friends and I caravanned our way to Atlanta for a music festival. Yesterday I jumped, laughed, shoved, smiled, sweat through my clothes, and ate a mango tangerine king of pops against a railing while watching a cloud of smoke encompass the entire sky above us. That is a moment. A moment where i can lean back and watch the scenes around me. My friends giggling with each other, figuring out what to do next, people scurrying around trying to figure out what show to see next, how exciting of a moment is that?

There were moments I couldn’t stop dancing. Moving is so fun. It didn’t matter how exhausted i was, i was not going to stop dancing. I was so tired, there were moments I couldn’t even breathe and I didn’t want to stop dancing. The lights, the other dancing around me. I’m addicted to those moments. I’m so so addicted to those moments.

I could repeat that sentence over and over again. Those are the moments that I live for. I have thought a lot about this recently. Being addicted to moments like these. Moments where i feel so alive and can recognize how special each and every moment is. There is not a moment that doesn’t matter. Each moment, each day, everything happens once and we get to decide so many little things. I could talk about how much there is that we can’t control, there is obviously a lot of that but how helpful is it to get stuck in the things we truly can’t control. How much better is it then to lean against the railing with a mango tangerine popsicle and watch so many beautiful things unfold before me.

Do people think about moments in this way? As fleeting as I see them, where i so badly want to catch it even if it’s in a dangerous place- grab it and hold onto it for as long as i can. I love moments so much. I love being addicted to moments.
